• Resolved seferia

Thanks to these forums, I was able to resolve the invalid argument problem that occurred when I updated Jetpack. However, I have now encountered a new problem.

Previously, I had a custom text for my Jetpack comments. However, now, all it will show is simply “Leave a reply”. I have checked to see if my custom text is there, and found that it was. I even tried removing and replacing the text, but the “Leave a reply” stays instead of the text that I want.

I am at a loss as to how to fix this error.

If it helps, my site is https://seferia.net

  • I am having the exact same problem. My custom text used to show up, but now it doesn’t. I have disabled all plugins and the text still doesn’t show up.

    My site is https://abouttruckdriving.com/

Having the same issue. Update 2.2.4 removed my customized “Leave a reply” text and reverted to standard. Even though under “Discussion” settings I can still see the customized text.

    Hope it gets resolved soon.

Still waiting for a resolution on this.

I see the exact same thing happening. Though the default text works in the wording of the rest of my sites, it would be very handy to have that working. The 2.2.5 update does not fix this, so I hope 2.2.6 comes out soon to fix this problem.

Same here. Running Jetpack 2.2.5 on WordPress 3.5.1 with Canvas theme, and changes to “Leave a reply” do not work.

Just chiming in that I have the same problem, and it’s only begun recently — possibly with the Jetpack update but I can’t be sure. Running Jetpack 2.2.5 on WP 3.5.1 on multi-sites.

It’s the same problem on every site in the network: can see and edit the custom text in the Discussion Settings, but it doesn’t show up on the actual site — default “Leave a reply” only.

I’ve also checked to see if it’s a theme issue, but same applies even in WP default themes.

I Noticed the issue on my site today as well!

    Jetpack Mechanic ??

Thank you all for the reports.

Could you all go to the Jetpack menu in your dashboard, and try to disconnect from your WordPress.com account thanks to the button in the top right corner?

Once you have done so, reconnect to WordPress.com, and head over to Settings > Discussion to save your comment prompt settings once again.

Let me know if this helps.

    Thank you Jeremy,

I tried your suggestion – disconnect and re-connect, but no effect – still shows only:

Any other ways we could try?

I’ve also done as you suggested, Jeremy, and to no effect. ?? Still shows “Leave a Reply.”

Thank you all. We’re looking into this, and I will post again here as soon as I have some news.

Anybody heard anything on this? It’s been more than 2 weeks since the last post.
