    Hi there,

    https://www.epicarehome.com/

The problem i want to fix is regarding Internet Explorer.

Everytime i open my site in IE i get a notification like below.

“Internet Explorer has blocked this website from displaying content with security certificate errors.”

I want this notification to be removed, as i want my site to be fully secured.

I have tried so many plugins, including yours but still it dosnt solve the problem.

If you help me fix this problem, Im willing to Donate a generous amount for your Plugin.

    Thank You

Ga! Your website is loading three versions of jQuery: the good one that comes with WordPress, and two older ones! (1.7.2 and 1.4.4). That’s triggering JavaScript errors. Fix that and then look again.

IE is reporting security certificate errors, so it could be that one of your external assets is coming from a server with an expired certificate, or a self-signed certificate.

But fix that jQuery problem first, so we can see what’s really going on.

    cheers,
    Ross

    Hi Ross,

I have a similar warning on https://blog.viewpath.com. I am new to WordPress (someone else set up our site for us) and I have no idea what is causing this on our site. Can you offer possible reasons and guide me to where I can correct the issue?

    All the best,

    -John

    G’day John,

Your site has two SSL problems.

    • your site is using a generic SSL certificate for gridserver.com, not your own domain — you need to buy and install a certificate for your domain
    • your logo (viewpath_logo.png) is loading over HTTP — you can probably change that in your theme settings

    cheers,
    Ross

Thanks Ross. We have a security certificate for our domain. Where do I go in the WordPress admin to remove the generic cert and incorporate ours?

    G’day John,

You can’t do that through WordPress, you need to do it through your web hosting control panel (e.g. cPanel, Plesk) or get your web host to do it for you.

    cheers,
    Ross

    Hi Ross,

Brilliant! Thank you so much for your help.

Well…this is happening to me too. It just started doing it. https://www.jilllevenhagenphotography.com
    Ross…can you find out why?
And Ross, how do you test this and find out what the problems are?

@living_simple: when I visit that website with https: I get taken to a generic Bluehost page about “coming soon” then redirected to a copy of the website on another domain name. You will need to speak to your website host about that, they can help you with your problem.

How I generally diagnose SSL problems is by looking in the browser console, which shows me the errors the browser encountered. I start with Google Chrome which is the most convenient to check, then if IE has a problem the other browsers don’t have, I check the IE console (hit f12 for developer tools then click on Console).

    cheers,
    Ross

    Hello,

I just installed SSL Insecure Content Fixer and am now getting:

    SSL connection error
Unable to make a secure connection to the server. This may be a problem with the server, or it may be requiring a client authentication certificate that you don’t have.
Error 107 (net::ERR_SSL_PROTOCOL_ERROR): SSL protocol error

whenever I try to do anything in WordPress. What do I do to resolve this? And, I also have a shared SSL certificate. However I did not install it in WordPress. Do I need a plugin like WP HTTPS to install it in WP or is it installed at the server?
