Read more link does not work on front/home page

  • Dear D5Creations,

    I created a post, added the <!–more–> tag after the first (before the second) paragraph, and I didn’t write anything in the Excerpt meta field. Now the Read More button does not show up on the front/home page.

    Without using the <!–more–> tag, it appears again after a randomly trimmed portion of my first paragraph. Why?

    Can you help me to resolve this issue?
