• Hello.

    I use WordPress version 3.5.1.

    When I copy texts from Word (Microsoft) and past it on WYSIWYG Editor.
    A lot of unanticipated HTML(CSS?) tags are written automatically :

    @font-face { font-family: “Arial”; }@font-face { font-family: “Century”; }p.MsoNormal, li.MsoNormal, div.MsoNorma

    It happens when I use FireFox of Mac.

    Does anyone know about it ?

    Best regards

  • Yep, Word adds all kind of non-compliant code – it’s best to avoid doing that entirely. Use a plain text editor or if you are on Windows, some people like Windows Live Writer.

    There’s two relatively easy ways around this.

    1. Copy from Word and past into Notepad, then copy form Notepad and paste into WordPress
    2. Copy form Word and paste into WordPress – using the ‘Text’ tab on the editor (that’s very important)

    It is good idea to change text’s format into plain text.

    Is it difficult to copy text’s style (font color, underline) ?

    Best regard.

    You won’t be able to keep the text styling by doing it this way. The best thing to do is do your writing in Word and then do all of your formatting in WordPress. I haven’t seen Windows Live Writer before so I can’t comment on if that works for styling or not.
