How to remove the comments entirely?

    Hi all ??

    thanks so much for providing support and help! I am a newbie in terms of hosting a site via www.ads-software.com. Used to run a blog on wp.com.

    Caroline, I love your theme, thanks for that one.

    I have created a child theme by now. What I want to do is to:

    – remove the comments entirely. I tried to remove the parts in the style.css (am not at all familiar with codes, though.) That did not work.

    The effects I am trying to generate: no more “plus sign” (toggle?), no more comment forms, nothing comment at all.

    I want to use Spun as a homepage.

    I am also having an eye on the thread “removing the arrows”. I would also want to have them go away.

    You can disable comments site-wide by turning them off in Settings -> Discussion. This would be easier than modifying the theme. Note that you’ll have to disable comments on all previously-published posts/pages individually, as this setting will only affect future posts/pages.

    The “plus” sign can be removed by removing widgets from Appearance -> Widgets.

    May I ask one more, again about removing so it should be in topic of that thread?

    How can I remove the “the date”, “time” and “by admin” underneath each post? I am not using spun as a blog and so I’d prefer to not display this information.

    Am not sure whether I am supposed to open a new thread now? Or can I post a second “remove-question” here? I am new to the forum so I’d appreciate a meta-hint in handling ??

    As your new question is different from the originating question in your first post, you ought to create a new thread. Otherwise threads tend to be never ending and never resolving. People searching the forums for solutions may then find it difficult to find solutions.
