How do I know field names to query for?

I’ve been away from SQL for years and I’ve never learned how to access the SQL DB behind a WordPress website.
I need to query for details about posts. Specifically; title, author, display author as, status, word count, and date.
I think I can muddle through and build a report, if I can know what the field names are.
How can I know that?
