• EEK! Help! I’m getting reports that all my photos show up as thin slivers on IE 8. I checked and sure enough, it’s true. I disabled your plug-in and it works fine. I really love and use Easy FancyBox. Can you help?

  • Hi Tena, it will be hard to say. It can be a CSS thing or a script conflict.

Do you have a link to a page where I can see the issue live? I find no photo’s on your site plus someone is not liking the fact that you are hot-linking his easing script…

In any case, you could try switching off all other plugins and if that does not solve it, switch to the default twenty twelve theme for a minute. Just to narrow down the source of the problem because it should not be happening.

I am a bit confused. What do you mean about the easing script?

I have photos on the link I sent https://trinidadpena.com/. Do you not see them? Here should be at least 6 photos on the home page. Are you on IE 8? May you are experiencing the sliver problem?

The problem is only solved when I disable Easy FancyBox. It works fine with all the other plug-ins. I’m not sure where to go from here. I really like how the plug-in works but IE 8 is an issue.

Also in IE 8 the photo overlay opens in another window instead of as a light box.

    See https://portfolio.trinidadpena.com/jeremy-schonfeld-web-design.html (but it’s unrelated)

Yes, I see all kinds of images but none can be opened in FancyBox because they are not linked to any media file.

They all have a PIN ME button though… I would not be surprised if that causes issues in IE8.

Now I see about the easing script! Ugh! A slider I bought from themeforest is using it. How annoying!

I think you may be right, it maybe the pin me plug-in that is causing the problem. I will check in with them.

The light box doesn’t appear in IE 8, though.

I have one linked to on my moodboard post to the word this.

    It’s in this paragraph:
    It’s a show stopper

The colors make it bright and fun, but the white space keeps it sophisticated. It says “I do my own thing”. It makes me feel kinda like this.

Thanks so much for your help!

OK, I see the link. But now you’ve disabled Easy FancyBox. Even so, I see an error flash by in console after I click the link. Then it’s gone before I can read it because the GIF will be opened in the browser tab, replacing the previous content. Annoying that the error does not stay visible… I’ll try with another debugger tool.

In any case, with FancyBox switched off I still get the extremely thin images in IE8. Could you disable the Pin Me plugin for a while?
