I had wordpress running on one of the custom themes.
I then purchased and uploaded a theme.
I went to activate the theme , so went to Appearence -> Themes and chose ACTIVATE for the new theme , the page went blank and since then nothing seems to work , any instruccion leads to a blank page.
Cannot access DASHBOARD or anything/anywhere just opens on the sample page from the custom theme I had started as a test.

I uploaded all WP and new theme files again in my FTP server, but continues to open in the old SAMPLE PAGE

As a different matter… I did this with firefox… Why cannot I see the adminbar in safari or chrome ?

    Thanks

  • Your site URL?

You need to delete that theme using FTP or another file manager.

Also, first be sure that you’ve cleared your browser cache and cookies.

WPyogi I cleared the cache and tried with other browsers
Delete the custom theme or the new one I tried to activate ?

    thanks

I’m not sure what you mean by “custom theme” (was that the theme you were using earlier?) – but if it’s the new one that caused the problem – that’s the one to delete – or perhaps deactivate would be better – you can do that by changing the name on the theme folder.

    Thanks WPyogi !!
That seemed to work. The problem comes with the new theme HEAT/megatheme
For some reason it’s not working. I will try uploading it again and contacting them

A question for them also, will be >

in what way does affect the fact that my PHP server is based on Zeus architecture rather than Apache and that PHP Safemode is turned on and will not be disabled ?

Anything you could comment on that ?

    Thanks again !!

Tried to upload theme again as zip, got this message…

Unable to create directory wp-content/uploads. Is its parent directory writable by the server?

That’s typically a permissions problem on the server – you might try downloading another theme (try one from the themes on this site) – and uploading it – just to check if it’s all themes.

Then you’ll probably need to ask your host how to change permissions – sounds like that may be complicated in your case.

You could also install the theme using FTP if you have that access.

    Thanks

I uploaded it through the FTP in the first place, that’s why I tried the upload page this time… It lets me but I have the original problem… I will check with the developers

Many thanks for your help !
