IE Doesn't Show Sites Properly

  • Hello all,

    I am having an issue where on a couple of websites I have installed, IE is messing up the way they look. Some of the issues are like css is not being recognized to images not being loaded.

    Here are two of my sites with both types of issue.

    If anyone has any ideas what may be causing this issue, I would love to hear your advice. I have looked all over and tried many solutions such as disabling all plugins.

    Start by validating your websites.
    This validation process may involve modifications of the theme’s files, meaning you’d need to contact your theme’s vendors of both sites.

    Let me clarify a bit more. While validation is a good point, and yes there are a couple of validation error that can be fixed. None of the issues for validation are actually effecting the issues that arise in IE, such as images not loading. When an image is opened in a tab, I do not get the image located at the link specified. Instead I get the code that would probably make up the image.

    I suppose, what I am wondering is if there is an issue with the current version of WP that is causing these issues with IE. An example of this issue happening with the twenty twelve theme can be seen here https://testing.jeremycote.net

    Please specify the version of IE you experience the issue in.

    IE9 and IE10.

    I wondering if it might be a setting set in the browser itself

    You have data before the DOCTYPE. Look at your source code. That has to be removed so IE does not freak out.
