with javascript

var $j = jQuery.noConflict();   

$j('document').ready(function(){
    $j('.readmoreinline').hide();
    $j('.more-link').click(function(e){
        e.preventDefault();
        $j('.readmoreinline').toggle();
    });
});

Hmm, all that did was render the read more link inoperable all together.

well it works for me. the read more text appears and the page wont go to the post url.
