    Hello guys!

I have a strange issue with the plugin.
After install it, if i try to log out and log in with my proper username and password, i can’t log in.
    It appears a red rectangle.

The only way to access my site is to go to FileZilla and delete the folder of the plugin.
Then i can access my site properly (without plugin anymore).

But it’s a pity since the plugin seems very nice and right what i needed!

Can you tell me please why this happen?

    Thank you!

  • Yes, I also meet this problem. Before the fix I have to stop it. What a pity but why this simple issue happened?
I try to uninstall the plugin and delete the option in database, then install it again but still error…
Only admin user cannot log in. No matter how I change the password in database or in user management page. Once I change the subscriber user to administrator. The user cannot log in.

Hm, I’m not sure what is causing this. I have an idea that is has something to do with activation of the plugin, but I have never encountered this issue myself. I will do my best to recreate the issue, I hope to have some news for you ASAP.

    Thank you very much!
If you need to know something feel free to ask!
What i try to do is to put inside my correct username of the site, or create a new one, trying with email, trying to check the settings, and uploading wordpress to 3.5.1 (i had 3.5.0)
In the event you need i can also give you my user and password if you need to check directly.

    Thank you!

I am having the same experience as mayq0422, I have restored my site to earlier version and will not update this plugin at this point. Hopefully the issue will be resolved in the next update. Could it be a conflict with another plugin? I have several plugins that manage the admin side of things. Could redux be writing a line somewhere that is breaking the code for the admin login? Another strange glitch that I noticed was when I went to a registered user login, I could enter the site and could not go to the user profile. There was an error message. I would need to go back and update the plugin to replicate the error at this point. If anyone else has noticed this, please comment. I will take the time to replicate if someone thinks it would be helpful.

I found an example of the errors that were occurring after I updated the plugin:

Fatal error: Allowed memory size of 41943040 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate 30720 bytes) in /data/24/3/15/27/3015842/user/3348587/htdocs/WPC/wp-includes/class-feed.php on line 84

I don’t know if this is relevant. I am able to see the user profile with the earlier version (3.9.8) of Redux.

johnnyfittizio, mayq0422, mayq0422, if any of you are running WordPress for Networks, or WordPress Multisite as it is also known, the issue should be resolved in the new version that I just published, 3.9.10. Are any of you NOT running WordPress for Networks?

mzolow, I don’t think the error you have there is exactly related, can you tell me whether you can login again with 3.9.10, and if the fatal error you have noted is occurring with 3.9.10?

Oh! Thank radiok! I update the plugin and it works well now! I like your plugin!

Thank you mayq0422, I’m glad it’s working for you and I hope this is the only serious problem you encounter. The changes I made to prevent unverified users from accessing the site were pretty… dramatic. I wish they hadn’t have caused issues for you, or anyone else, but unfortunately I don’t have the resources to test everything as thoroughly as I’d like. Again, thank you and I hope everything works well for you from here on out.

I can login as admin with the new update 3.9.10. I still have the problem with the error:

Fatal error: Allowed memory size of 41943040 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate 122880 bytes) in /data/24/3/15/27/3015842/user/3348587/htdocs/WPC/wp-admin/admin-header.php on line 129

This is when I log on as a registered user and try to view the profile. I can go to my profile as admin. I will try to experiment and see if other users have the same error when trying to go to profile. At least the admin login is working now. I don’t know if this fatal error is specifically related to Redux, though it wasn’t happening prior to the update.

I tried a different user and get the same error:

Fatal error: Allowed memory size of 41943040 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate 122880 bytes) in /data/24/3/15/27/3015842/user/3348587/htdocs/WPC/wp-admin/admin-header.php on line 129

This does not affect the admin profile, just registered users.

    Yes!
    Great job radiok!
I have WordPress for Networks, and now the plugin is working perfectly!

    Thank you!

mzolow, I want to resolve your error, but it would be best if we did it on a separate thread to assist search-ability for other users and to highlight your problem if anyone else is encountering this. Can you disable Redux and check on this Fatal error and post your response in a new thread?

When you say disable the plugin, do you mean inactivate in WordPress? Or should I remove the folder on the server side? I will post a separate thread after you let me know the correct way to disable the plugin. Thank you very much.

Deactivate in WordPress. The login issue you were previously having made deactivating irrelevant, and impossible, so your simply had to delete the folder. With that resolved you can deactivate the plugin. If you want to be super duper cautious though, the best test would be to deactivate, do whatever it is you do that causes that fatal error and record your findings. If it still occurs with Redux deactivated, I would then move on to deleting the folder and again causing the fatal error to occur and recording your results.
