Works fine for me at the link you have posted above – I get a captcha when I post a comment using viagra-test-123 as the author name. Note that a Captcha is only displayed after someone posts a spammy comment.

    Thanks for the quick response.

This is what I used as a test (in a new browser, not logged in):

    NAME: rock hard
    WEBSITE: rockhard.com
    EMAIL: [email protected]
    MESSAGE:
https://rockhard.com will increase your penis size and get you laid. Go ot https://pornsite.com to get great porn and pussy and cunt with seven https://www.spambot.com

Is that not spammy enough? Does it only work on certain keywords and only in the name?

Here is one of the most common spams I’ve been getting. Would it work on this?
    lista de email
    kitdeemail.com
    [email protected]

very useful content. thanks. lista de email lista de email lista de email lista de email lista de email

    Thanks!

    Hi,

What is spammy enough depends on Akismet ;-). I am surprised that it didn’t flag those comments, no idea why (maybe Akismet’s servers were down!).

The common spam you have been getting should definitely be caught. I would suggest you leave the plugin running for a few hours/days and see what happens – you should find spam comments being rejected/put in trash (according to what settings you have chosen – at first you might choose the trash option so you can monitor what is being rejected).

If you want to force Akismet to flag the comment so that you can see the captcha, use viagra-test-123 in the author name.
