I am using the sidebar widget on my website. When I click on the event, it takes me to the events “page” where it lists the details, displays the map, etc. At the bottom of the page the widget title (h2.widget-title) is showing up and I want to remove it. I can’t find the line of code in single.php. Can anyone tell me what line/code I need to remove? Or am I trying to edit the wrong file? Thanks in advance.

  • Hi jaegergirl,

As mentioned in our sticky thread (https://www.ads-software.com/support/topic/welcome-the-events-calendar-users-read-this-first), we unfortunately are unable to help with with customization, styling or integration issues not caused by bugs with The Events Calendar. You have a few options:

    1. Check out our extensive support resources and try to figure it out on your own: https://tri.be/support/ & https://tri.be/support/forums
    2. Hire a developer to assist you. We’ve got a list of freelancers who know our code and who we can vouch for. Email us (pro at tri.be) and we’ll pass that list your way.
    3. Purchase a Pro license to get more support: https://tri.be/shop/wordpress-events-calendar-pro/. As mentioned in the sticky thread, we can provide both a deeper and more frequent level of support for PRO users.

I hope that helps and good luck!

    Cheers,

Hi Jonah, I understand the policy regarding customizations. I was hoping one of the other The Events Calendar user would be able to chime in if they had a similar problem.

I did figure out this has something to do with the free WP theme I am using (Weaver II). I don’t have the problem with your plug in using a purchased theme for another site I am doing, that’s why I figured it has something to do with Weaver II. I am using the calendar widget in a side bar and when I click on the event, it takes me to the page and at the bottom it shows this message:

“If you see this message, it means you have a plugin trying to add a Sidebar to a page. Because of Weaver II’s flexible sidebar layouts, Weaver sidebar areas are not compatible with this plugin, but this special one is. To use this area, open the Main Options : Widget Areas : Define Per Page Widget Areas and define a per-page area called plugin_replacement. Add widgets to the new plugin_replacement area, and they will be displayed here on plugin pages.”

When I do what it says, the calendar widget is showing at the bottom of the page.

I know you can’t help me and it might seem a waste of time to tell you all the info above, but like I said, I’m hoping that someone else has run into this same issue and can help guide me how to fix it.

    Thanks for your response. =)

I actually found some “help” on the Weaver II website:
    https://weavertheme.com/wp-content/themes/weaver-ii-pro/help/help.html#WidgetAreas

This is well above my technical expertise so I guess I’ll just try to find an alternative.

Again, this information is more of an FYI for anyone else who has run into the same problem.

    Hi jaegergirl,

I completely understand, just chiming in so you and others at least know our policy on this kind of thing. Thanks for doing the research and sharing the possible solution. Sorry to hear it’s too difficult and you need to find a different solution, but hopefully it will help others having a similar issue.

    Regards,
    Jonah
