Media Library unattached images after importing

  • Hello i m Stuck and need help

    i just moved to a new host and i want make NEW and FRESH instalation
    of wordpress.
    So i exported my posts (4000 images) and attanchements (1827 photos)

    The import was fine i had all my posts and thumbnails in place
    and even in the website Frontend the thubnails was related to posts
    i was happy that it was working.

    Until i went to Media Gallery and i found that all the images
    was unattached so i tried diferent tips from forum….

    but no way the images still unattached anyone have an idea how
    to fixe this ?

    NB : i dont wanna importa all database

    Ty for fast reply

    For Export i did

    The Size of xml exported is 32mg so i tried 2 ways :

    1) splited manualy into 7 file of 5mg and imported from
    Tools -> import -> and checked (Download and import file attachments)

    2) Splited automaticly with WXR File Splitter and imported from
    Tools -> Import -> and checked (Download and import file attachments)

    when the import finish i got theis message :

    All done. Have fun!

    Remember to update the passwords and roles of imported users.

    Best guess – your file splitter may have caused a problem. I’d suggest using this one instead.

    just for information normally when u import u shouldent ave this problém ?

    It’s not a known bug and it very rarely happens. When it does, it’s usually a problem with the export and/or import file.

    i just did the test with the suggested splitter and still same issue
    images are not attached

    This is beginning too sound like you have an issue in your original export file. Have you tried moving the database instead using the instructions in Moving_WordPress?

    at the end i gave up and imported only both table post and postmeta

    hope the exporter will get fixed coz by searching on forum i found
    many people who have same issue as me.
