Shortcode support in image description

Hi,

It seems to me that the Nextgen Gallery plugin does not support third party shortcodes in the image description, i.e. a shortcode that otherwise works well in a post/page does not execute in an image description, you just see the plain text shortcode. Am I correct? If so, it would be a nice feature to add.

I wanted to add an HTML code snippet to image descriptions. In my case the HTML included a form with textarea inputs. The textarea tags interfere with the field in which you type the image descriptions, so the HTML is not saved properly. I thought of bypassing the issue by using a third party plugin shortcode to insert HTML snippets (I use Post Snippets plugin), but it seems that shortcodes are not executed.

So I have two feature requests, unless there are known workarounds:
1) shortcode support in image description fields
2) extending the HTML support in the image description fields to include <textarea> tags.
