Cannot add media to pages or posts – 404 error

  • I have bee searching the forums for a solution to this problem with no luck. Since updating to version 3.5.1 I cannot add any media to a post or a page. Whilst editing it seems to go OK until I preview or update, in either case I get a 404 Page not found error. As per the advice on many posts on this topic I have done all of the following; Deactivated all plugins, switched to the default TwentyTwelve theme, deleted all WP files via FTP and uploaded from a fresh download. All with absolutely no effect, I still cannot add any media to pages or posts, I can however add text.

    If anyone has any ideas I’d be very grateful, Cheers
