Add Media in Posts excerpt

  • Hi.

    I want to add the ‘Add Media’ to post excerpt in functions.php and the TinyMCE editor. How can I enable these without using plugins?

  • The post excerpt is, well, an excerpt of the post. It can’t contain anything that is not in the post itself.

    What is that you are really trying to achieve? Do you want to display an image from the post alongside the excerpt? This is possible using a child theme and a custom template, rather than adding a custom function.
