Hide forums?

I set two forums so no one but authorized folks would see them, one Private, the other Hidden — under Visibility. I set Roles using the Members plugin — Private, Hidden, Private/Hidden — so only those with permission (Role) could view.

I’m logged in now and don’t see either forum. I’m admin so should have access.

The other day they were visible even if logged out. I can’t test that right now.

How do I make them show to those who are authorized? If need be they can be open but password-protected. I’d need a plugin for that

Edit: I’m admin and Keymaster — it was set up for me that way but no clue why — and I show as Keymaster while logged in. Could that be the issue? If so, then I don’t have access, I guess, so that is not an issue. I then need to know why that Role isneeded for me
