Sidebar not showing on posts

  • I’m using twentyeleven theme,and wanted a sidebar to appear on all of my pages..It looks like this is what I needed..

    I followed the instructions from Todd Heitner’s post above to the hilt, but whilst the sidebar I have created is showing up in “widgets”, it’s not showing when I view the page.Have I missed something?Is there a shortcode I need to add or?

    Thanks though,I think once I’ve sussed this,it will be exactly what I am after..
