Author Subscription plugin

I am trying to get a plugin called Author Subscription by Jeff Farthing to work but there is no documentation and I cannot even find it through a search of the plugins. I have emailed him but with no response. Does anyone know of any documentation for his plugin or better yet a plugin that will accomplish the same thing [notify when a specific author publishes a new article]?
