Need help accessing images folder

I have read enough on these forums to realize the images folder disappeared on the upgrade to 3.5.1. I read solutions, but they won’t work for me. I am trying to change some images and links on a site designed by a professional (with their permission). I don’t want to mess with deleting/installing plugins and such. What is the best way for me to simply access the images folder? They have the site and images working fine.
