Import of users

Here is my scenario…
I imported about 3000 users from a non-WordPress site. I had to change some of the columns name’s after the import. For example… WordPress uses ‘user_login’ and the imported database used ‘login’.
Anyways. All was going well until I tried to register a new user. When I do so, everything seems to go okay but I cannot login after I do so. Its like it doesn’t actually register the user. I am guessing I am missing something in the database. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
