Create website with WordPress and have custom fields for CMS?

I am fairly new with WordPress, I have spent a small amount of time working with WordPress on a blog type of website, however now I need to build a completely non blog style of website, it’s just a regular website. I am wondering how I can do this and have the content be managed through WordPress dashboard? I need to have very specific and custom layout and designs to my website, so I don’t quite understand how I would go about doing this?

I just basically would like to be able to have each page have a different sort of design to manage the content. Some pages may have a lot of text, and some pages may have images off to the side and such.
