Slider obstructing drop down menus upon latest update

Running twenty twelve theme. Experiencing issue in Chrome and FF.
I’ve tried setting a higher z-index on the nav container and a lower z-index on the slider but still no luck. I’ve read other threads where this corrected the problem but not for me.
I’m fairly certain this just started upon updating.
