• The plugin description clearly said it would move all old expirations to the new format, but after updating the plugin on one of our sites (which had not updated it in a while) all these were lost.

I have a backup but we do not want to go back on the whole site. Is there any way to retrieve these previous expirations and get them working with the new format?

  • What version of the plugin where you running before upgrading?

This is the first i’ve heard of this issue – and it never came up in any of my testing.

    It was version 1.4.3!

All the posts still have a custom field containing the expiration date, but it has not put them in the new format.

If it matters, these are on a custom post type.

The easiest/quickest way for you to fix this right now would be to go into the database and change the “postexpiratorVersion” entry in the wp_options table to be “1.9.9”. After that is done, just go load any page in the admin interface. This will cause the 2.0 upgrade process to fire solving your problem.

When using the “update now” method, WordPress first removed the old plugin, and then installed the new one. The old plugin being removed cleared out the version value, which is why the upgrade events did not fire.

Let me know if that was successful for you.

Thanks that looks like it has sorted everything!
