• Hi

i am having an issue where my site is working perfectly and for no reason the menu items stop linking to their designated pages.

For example i’ll click on “contact us” and it will say page not found even though it was working fine.

i then disable plugins one at a time and it does not solve anything. i then disable all and reactivate. again the site works fine until the same issue happens again.

How can i fix this? Is it WP 3.5.1 issue?

If it’s an intermittent issue, it’s more likely to be a hosting issue. Have you spoken to your hosts about it?

    Hi

Its not a host issue. I can duplicate the issue most when i activate woocommerce but some time it also happens when woocommerce is deactivated.

I really don’t know what the problem is. But my site is now live and is basically unstable so i need to find a resolution.

A link to the site would be relevant.

    The error i get is:

    Not Found

Apologies, but the page you requested could not be found. Perhaps searching will help.

And sometimes all the menu links redirect to the home page

Have you tried deactivating all plugins and switching to the default theme to start troubleshooting?

    (@tamarale)

    yes, that does not help.

These kinds of problems can be hard to track down – so you’ll have to try to narrow down what causes it – those are the standard steps to do that. What have you done?

    i have:

    – deactivated all the plugins in bulk. Then reactivate in bulk. doing this make no difference, the error persists.
_ deactivate all the all the plugins in bulk. Then reactivate one-by-one. this sometimes solves the issue, not always.
_ i resave permalink structure. this also sometimes solves the issue, not always.

And switching to the twentytwelve theme with no plugins?

I have also been having problems with tagging articles. and i’m not sure if these are symptoms of the same problem. I add tags or posts to tags but in the tag menu it shows that the newly added tags have 0 posts.

Sounds like something funny is going on, yes. Do these persist in the twentytwelve theme with no plugins?

    Thread Starter tamarale

    (@tamarale)

    yes, same issue

Can you do that now so I can see the problem?

    Hi
All of a sudden i can’t recreate the original problem. could deactivating and reactivating a theme make a difference?

    thanks
