Do you know what version oh PHP you are using? My plugin targets 5.4.x and I may have erroneously assumed that most WordPress sites were using the latest version. That is perhaps not the case. I do know I had some trouble with PHP running on my site hosted on HostGator, but they provide the ability to specify the PHP version that Apache uses.

I hope you don’t mind, but I did look at your site. It is very pleasing to the eye and I suspicion that your choice of theme helped provide a conduit conducive to its aesthetic growth (Unlike myself who has fought valiantly to make my theme do my bidding.)

I’d have to check with my friend that’s far more tech savvy than I am on that one. We started a business together. I’m good at everything that doesn’t involve computers, while he knows all of that end. I’ve been going about testing various plugins to make the blog portion of our business site more professional looking while he’s in classes full time.

Though, from what I can tell from the phpMyAdmin page he sent me a few weeks ago it’s 3.3.10.4. (He’s under the impression if it works, don’t upgrade it to things with bugs and problems.)

Does this help any? And, I do apologise you’re not talking to the tech-savvy person here. I hope I’m making some sort of sense.

Yes, you are making complete sense to me. The number you gave me is actually the version for phpMyAdmin.

Here is a plugin that you can use to determine your WP and PHP version:

Just be sure to deactivate it afterwards, otherwise you’ll forever be staring at the notice in the Admin menu.

However, as I had suspicioned, you are running some variant of PHP 5.2.x. (I was able to duplicate the error.) I was able to modify my code base to support 5.3.x, but my code makes frequent use of language constructs only available above 5.2. This makes it impossible for my plugin to support your installation.

I am not going to be one of these people to tell you to upgrade. If your site is working, then I would leave it alone. But be aware PHP 5.2 may be archived in the very near future as 5.5 has been released.

I hope that you do not harbor any animosity or feel that this has been a waste of your time. I have been able to make beneficial changes and should you update and try to activate my plugin, you’ll get a more friendly error message (Not that this will ultimately be any help for you.)
