• Hello,
I just cant figure out if akismet plug-in is free or not. Some bloggers say it is and others say it is $5 a month for affiliate marketers.
Are there any free and easy to use spam plugins that will work well?

i will be opening comments for the first time, so it seems like protection is a good idea.

    Can anyone help?
    Thank you Mary

    Hello Van,
I havent been able to find out anything conclusive yet, but I received a comment from an active member on another thread.
here is a copy and paste.

“Yes, it is free only for personal, non-commercial sites. But I can tell you it’s the best plugin for comment spam. There are others you can use, however – cookies for comments is good or you can search for others.”

It was good to get an alternative suggestion. Good luck! Matry

    I finally have the answer

    This was my question.

“If I am An affiliate marketer with a blog, am I personal and required for a donation or commercial and required to pay monthly?

    This was the answer.

If you are selling or promoting anything for money, then it is not a personal site.

    I hope that helps.
