It only works on stuff listed in the Media Library, and NextGEN and Grand FlaGallery images at the moment. Please give some more information on how custom field images work (what plugin you use, if any), and anything else you think would be useful towards implementation, and I’ll consider this a feature request.

Once enough people chime in here with a +1 and I have the necessary information, I can put it on the todo list.

No plugin just a plain link of image called by the custom field. Thanks

If you could make this work with wp-symposium that would be great. They store gallery images in a user directory. wp-content/wps-content/members in subdirectories.

If you can’t do that, can you point me in the right direction, I will hack it myself.

tresero, please post your feature request in a new thread so I can keep track of it. If the feature gets enough votes, I’ll do what I can to implement it.

    halluzineyt,
I don’t think this is going to be possible. I didn’t quite understand what you meant when you were requesting this, but it appears to me that you are just putting a url/link to an image in the custom field, correct? If so, those could live anywhere, even on another server, and there is no way that I can think of for my plugin to determine the actual physical path of the image that needs to be optimized. Just to be sure, where do you actually store the images that you link to in the custom field?

    tresero,
again, please post a separate feature request. I think I have most of the pieces in place to implement it rather easily, but I won’t spend my time doing so until you prove it is important enough by following instructions.
