I tried with WP 3.5.1 and it broke the site. And I should note that I upgraded to WP 3.5.2 to try that, and the upgrade still disables the site. Each time, I had to go into my VPS and rename the plugin-organizer folder to plugin-organizer-bak to get the site running.

Luckily, I had an old copy of plugin organizer 2.5.9 and reinstalled that and all my settings were luckily saved.

Lesson learned: This is a 5 star plugin, and the authors did a wonderful job.

But this update is not stable yet. Do NOT update unless you have a saved copy of 2.5.9 available on your hard drive.

I look forward to a stable update, and again, thanks to the authors for a wonderful plugin.

  • 10-star plugin,the first plugin everyone should have ??

Latest update didn’t break my site, I just updated and assumed I don’t need to do anything like review my settings, as it should be. But plugins I blocked or activated are not working as they should be anymore.

Restored database and version 2.6.3 from my server’s backup, all ok again.

Will re-attempt update later by removing mu-plugin and let program recreate it and see what happens …

Deleted plugin from plugin directory, including mu-plugin.
    Installed latest version 3.
No problems installing, but selective plugins enabled/disabled not behaving as they should be.

Restoring previous version without restoring sql database does not help, Had to restore database as well to go back to normal.

I guess still not stable alright, at least for some of us, maybe more users will have more feedback until it is fixed. Back to last version for me, for now.

    Hi astrasuite,

Did exactly the same as you did last Friday. Enabling selective plugin loading is breaking our website too. And with this disabled, the website is much slower than with the old version of PO.

The developer of this plugin, Jeff, already mentioned in another thread that url admin settings are moved to another table while upgrading to the new version, that’s why you have to restore you database to get the old settings back again.

I am also back to the old version btw. That works like a charm and the new version breaks our website and makes it even slower than without having PO activated.

Hope Jeff will be able to fix the issues with the new version.

I have released version 3.0.1. There was an issue with fuzzy url matching so none of your settings where you set affect children were taking affect because of a ” character. Please try version 3.0.1 and see if it behaves as you expect it too.

Getting this error now when trying to access the installed plugins menu ([path]/wp-admin/plugins.php) from the wp backend:

Fatal error: Call to undefined function get_userdata() in [path]/wp-includes/capabilities.php on line 1356

Other menu’s are accessible now and the website is still up:)

If you delete the mu plugin file does the error go away?

BTW: It’s still not possible to add a plugin filter though. The only boxes shown in this menu are the seo plugin box and the custom fields box.

Selective plugin loading is not enabled then. Go to the settings page and make sure to delete the MU plugins file and copy it over again with the tool at the bottom of the page. Then set selective plugin loading to enabled. The settings page has moved. It’s now under settings in the admin menu. Settings->Plugin Organizer.

    Hey Jeff,

I did all this, but the plugin menu still gives the same error and the website (frontend) give this error again:

Fatal error: Call to a member function get() on a non-object in [path]wp-includes/query.php on line 27

Sorry, I wish I could say it worked now and really am a big fan of this plugin (at least of the last verion 2.6.x). Hope this info will help you find a solution anyway.

    Regards.

Sorry, forgot to mention: the add filter menu works now ??
Only the rest of the site and wp’s installed plugins moduls don’t as described above.

Sorry I just saw that in another post you made. ;). Thought maybe you were running an older version which might explain the issues.

No problem! Anything to help you fix these issues.

emielm have you tried version 3.0.9? There have been some bugs and I think they are all worked out in that version.
