• Recently upgraded to 3.5.2. Looks like all media that was uploaded after the upgrade does not show up in post preview or when a post is published. I can see the images fine in the dashboard/admin place where I edit and create the post, but when I preview or post- an X shows up with the image name where the image should be. I have loads of photos what were uploaded in the media library to use in post creation and none of them work. However, if I take a new photo and upload it and insert it into the post, that works fine. Any fixes for this? or do I have to delete and re-upload ALL of those images again??

This does not affect old posts- only new posts with images that were uploaded right after the 3.5.2 upgrade. Thanks!

  • Have you tried:

    – deactivating all plugins to see if this resolves the problem. If this works, re-activate the plugins one by one until you find the problematic plugin(s).

    – switching to the default theme to rule out any theme-specific problems.

resetting the plugins folder by FTP or PhpMyAdmin. Sometimes, an apparently inactive plugin can still cause problems.

    – re-uploading all files & folders – except the wp-content folder – from a fresh download of WordPress. Make sure that you delete the old copies of files & folder before uploading the new ones.

Looks like the problem is Jetpack! I deactivated it. now what? I rely heavily on jetpack…. should I delete it and reinstall it?

completely deleting and re-installing jetpack seems to have fixed it….
