I’ve read through other posts with the same issue, and I’ve tried the suggested fixes.

Problem: After clicking the “upgrade to wordpress 3.5.2” from the dashboard, I was prompted to relogin. That’s where the issue started. I’m in some sort of loop, as I click the Update WordPress Database button, and it takes me to the same page (url), but the button is gone…

    So far I’ve

    • cleared my browser cache/cookies
    • deactivated all plugins
    • renamed current theme to themename-old (this just caused my site to be blank)
    • checked for the update.php file (it was there)
    • cleared my browser cache/cookies
    • did a manual upload of wp-admin and wp-includes
    • cleared my browser cache/cookies
    • ran the database repair tool

I’m at a loss as to what to try next. This is the only site out of 10+ that has had this issue after upgrading.

Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance!

Tried working with 3 different browsers as I saw in another post it may have been browser specific…no change.

I’m getting in touch with the client’s webhost (small local company) and seeing if it may be the database version issue…

Any other advice would be greatly appreciated!

    Thanks!

Hey shewel, ive got the same problem. Did you find a solution yet?

@iancurtis: As per the Forum Welcome, please post your own topic. Posting in an existing topic prevents us from being able to track issues by topic. Added to which, your problem – despite any similarity in symptoms – is likely to be completely different.

I had the same problem, but I followed ESMI instruction and worked like a charm.
    This is what i follow:

(– re-uploading all files & folders – except the wp-content folder – from a fresh download of WordPress. Make sure that you delete the old copies of files & folder before uploading the new ones. )

    Thank you Esmi.

I solved my problem. I looked into my database structures. The table wp_options was filled with too many transient records. It was fully bloated. I manually removed transient records over sql and then the upgrade worked. For this problem i recommend this plugin: “Artiss Transient Cleaner”.

I was able to resolve the issue by having the client’s host check the database version number in wp_options. That did the trick and all is working as intended as of now. Funny it was the only issue I had in 10+ sites.

    Hope that helps!
