    I’ve just spent a few frustrating days trying to get the Sell Media plugin working, and have given up. There are too many idiosyncrasies and bugs; it just doesn’t seem finished, and the support is a bit thin on the ground.

    Looking around, I discovered EDD. I wondered if anyone familiar with EDD could save me the effort of reading everything first, by telling me if it’s suitable for selling photos?

    Ideally, I want to sell existing blog photos, as well as create a dedicated stock photo gallery. The ability to generate various sizes on the fly, with selectable licences and appropriate prices, and with watermarked previews is essential.

    The ability to create an account for return business would be a bonus.

    Also, am I right in thinking that Paypal payment is built-in?

    We support variations.
    Watermarking extension is on teh way.
    The ability to create an account is already there.
    PayPal standard is built in. There’s an extension for Pro and Express.

    What does “we support variations” mean?

    I need a plugin that creates different sizes, either in advance or on supply, so I don’t have to create thumbnails, previews, web, print, etc all myself. Obviously, previews need watermarks too.

    Does the plugin create different sizes, or just link to them?

    The idea is that you sell an image as full-size for print, or smaller sizes for web use and caption boxes. So you may need to provide say a cheaper 1000px or 500px version of every image too.

    Rather than create several versions yourself, it makes more sense for the plugin to create these automatically, either on upload, or (probably more logically) when the customer downloads their purchase.

    Sorry, we do not create image sizes on the fly, we can only link to the already-created ones.

    I am interested in easy digital downloads to make an ecommerce by download.
    I am a photograph and i would like to make my own website to sell an access
    to download my images.
    Is it possible to sell a subscrition by year to get an access to download
    images ?
