Lost ability to compose as text

Start by disabling all plugins, and switching to a default theme such as twentytwelve and see if problem persists.

If then ok, then re-enable theme and re-test, then re-enable plugins one by one and test.

All plug-ins disabled. Now using twentytwelve.

Problem is unchanged.

I didn’t realize that at the same time the “choose from the most used tags” and the tag button had also failed.

The Screen Options and Help pull downs are dead.

I’ve run the auto-re-install and have seen no differences.

The incredibly stark black and white is because I reverted to twentytwelve.

Have you tried:

– re-uploading all files & folders – except the wp-content folder – from a fresh download of WordPress. Make sure that you delete the old copies of files & folder before uploading the new ones.

– setting up a new admin user and logging in as that user?
