Must turn permalinks off and then back on

  • I have a website that has been down for two weeks-turns out the problem is with the WordPress files. In order to fix that and get the website running again, I need to turn the permalinks off and then back on again. However, I cannot find where to do that and do not know how to do it. I am not very code savvy so a lot of the WordPress sites have not been super helpful. Please help if you can!!

  • In the admin are go to ‘Settings -> Permalinks’. Set that to ‘Default’ and save, then set it back to whatever it is now and save again. That will set your .htaccess file up again correctly.
