Moving Blog to root

Try:
Login
Change both urls in Options
Logout.
Move all the folders / files to root
Login

If anything strange goes on, use this guide
https://www.tamba2.org.uk/wordpress/site-url/
to restore the urls.

I had the same issue. Not sure if this would work for you, but I just changed my index.php file to:

‘<?php
header(“location:https://my site here/blog/index.php”);
exit;
?>’

That’s it. Works flawlessly.
