Post ID of “0”…News posts uncategorized

  • Hiya. Any assistance with this would be phenomenal.

    When I write a new post for the News section of my site, WordPress assigns it a Post ID of “0”. Subsequently the post is marked “uncategorized” and does not go live. A friend of mine delved into the SQL database/PHPadmin on my site and manually changed the Post ID to a number higher than the last post and this seemed to fix the problem.

    Firstly, I can’t seem to do this manual fix myself and second, I’d love some advice on how to fix the problem permanently

  • Do you have a URL? It helps in most cases.

    This news section — is it a WP installation in a “news” sub-directory?

    Do you have the same WP installation running the entire site?
