Search does not work – url problems

Does your theme have a search.php template file to show the search results:

the search works, if i change the url manually to https://wasserschloss-neuenheerse.com/index.php?s=Afrika&search=suchen.

The difficulty is, that the search starts at Site-Url https://www.wasserschloss-neuenheerse.com/ and there normally find index.php. I think because of the first shown html file index.html it could not work and just start the page index.html. So I need to direct it to index.php (as manually tested in browser).

Try it with:

action="<?php echo home_url('index.php'); ?>"
