After installing the plugin I got an error message when trying to connect with wordpress.

“Your Jetpack has a glitch. Something went wrong that’s never supposed to happen. Guess you’re just lucky: jetpack_id
Probeer nog eens te verbinden. Error Details: Jetpack ID is empty. “

    Jetpack Mechanic ??

In the past few months we have received more and more reports from Jetpack users using mostly European hosting providers, and receiving that “Empty Jetpack ID” error. It took us a while to reproduce the issue, as it was specific to a few hosts using the GnuTLS library with cURL.

But we think we may have found a solution to this problem, and we’ve committed a fix that should solve everything in the upcoming Jetpack release.

If you’d like to test the fix on a few of your sites, you could install the Beta version of the plugin, available for download here:

Let me know if it helps.

    Hi Jeremy,

I ran into the same jetpack_id error. Location: Netherlands.
I tried the beta but no luck: I get exactly the same error.

    Hi Jeremy,

I tried again after an hour and this time it worked. No more error, connecting to wp.com went fine. I don’t know if you changed anything, here I did install another plugin in the meantime. That couldn’t have made the difference, could it?

I didn’t make any changes to your site, but I’m glad to hear the Beta worked! ?? All our tests seem to be ok so far, so we’ll probably release the next version of Jetpack very soon.
