• I have been trying to update our companies website and have been playing with coding here and there. I am by no means a coding expert… actually more like extremely beginner and I have managed to screw something up big time.

I can’t even get into my wordpress site to fix the problem in the editor.

Whenever I try and go to the website this pops up:

Parse error: syntax error, unexpected ‘;’, expecting ‘)’ in /home/allpoint/public_html/wp-content/themes/Allpoint/functions.php on line 24

The website is https://www.allpointsih.com but I had activated a under-construction plugin.

Any help you can offer would be great.

    Thanks

  • You should be able to deactivate that theme – by renaming the theme folder via FTP (or other file manager your host uses)

    wordpress
        wp-content
            themes
                AllpointHOLD

That should force the site to use the default theme and let you login. As to the problem – looks like that’s a custom theme? Do you have a backup of your site?

Option 1. back up your site. and try changing your theme.

Option 2. go to your webhosting control panel and look for your wordpress site admin link. click on that link and you should be back on track if not then contact your webhosting provider.

    Good luck.
