Still can't login to admin area after installing "Adapt" theme

    Dear wordpress community,

    I’m pulling my hair out trying to log into the dashboard of my site.

    This is what happened:

    After installing and activating the adapt theme from wpexplorer, I was no longer able to login to my dashboard.

    When I try to login, the login page reappears with empty fields, no error message.
    When I try to reset my password, I get a “page not found”

    Steps I’ve taken:

    Tried deleting all cookies/cache
    Followed most of the steps in the codex (except the url redirect) found here.

    Now, not only can I not access the admin of that wordpress install, but I can’t get into any of my wordpress back-ends. All front ends are still fine.

    I contact my hosting serivce and they couldn’t help (they are continuing to look into it).

    Any advice?

  • Have you tried deactivating the theme and/or your plugins using FTP (or other file manager your host uses)?

    Yes, was able to revert to another theme by going into PHPmyAdmin and changing the options. i also tried deactivating the plugins via FTP. The theme is successfully changed back, but still no entry into the admin dashboard.

    go to your webhosting control panel and look for wordpress admin link for your site. click on that link and you should get in to dashboard to change theme etc. if not contact your webhosting provider for help. Remember webhosting should be helping you with issue. I had that issue and my webhosting provider took care of it in minutes. next time you should back up your site first.

    All seems to be well now. Either the problem went away on its own, or my hosting service did something on their end to make it all better. Thanks for the help though!
