Adsense 3 blocks per page

It’s both. One “page” is considered to be whatever is on the screen when the page is done loading (or whatever you can scroll to).

So you need to consider the number of blocks on any/all your visible linked pages. This is easier than it sounds, really.

Note that generally if you go over the rule of three, adsense just won’t deliver more — I don’t know that I’ve heard of it ‘punishing’ people for instance having a fourth or fifth ‘request’ on a given page…

But any Adsense ad you can see counts, including sidebars, titles, between posts, full ads or link lists, whatever.

Yeah, more than 3 just means that some of them won’t show up. I found that out by accident when some code that I added to me theme, which was supposed to add an adblock after the first post, was actually adding them after every post. I didn’t notice for weeks. ??

I also noticed that only 3 are showing up anyway…

That mean that I don’t have to remove the code manually in the previous posts? (I can leave the old codes in the previous post, or I should remove them?)

The best way I’ve found to have adsense ads in posts is to use the “more” tag, and place the ad block below it. That way you don’t run the risk of having too many on any one page, and you will then still have one on the page the post appears on when it’s just that one post.

will also give you room to add one to the sidebar or footer that way.

OR – you can just edit in options to show only 2 or 3 posts per page…

I don’t recommend leaving more than 3 – I know they just “don’t show up” but it still can’t look good that you’re making the attempt.

cudjoe – the “more” tag is right in the editor, what it does is puts up whatever you have above it as the post on your index page, with a link below it that says “continue reading” or something like that. when they click that link, it brings them to the individual post, in it’s entirety.

by placing your ad block below that more tag, it’s not seen unless they’re on the individual post page, and you no longer run the risk of having too many ads up at once.

you can find it right on the wordpress editor… in the WYSIWYG editor, it’s the button just to the left of the “undo” arrow and looks like two white boxes, one smaller one on top, larger on the bottom.

if you’re using the regular editor (non WYSIWYG) you can click on the word “more” ??

This is a really stupid idea. You would have to put the adsense code into each and every post. Instead, if you just put the code in your themes, you only have to do it once.
