Yikes, I’m having a big problem here.

I’ve been using PODS with no problems. All of a sudden when I click on the the Pods Admin link in WP admin, instead of showing me a list of my pods, I see the screen which appears when you have no PODs setup.

I’m using custom post types, and all of the post meta data is still in the database which is good. But now, even if I create a new pod, it appears in the wp menu. But when I click on the PODS admin link, it acts as if no pods exist. So basically I cannot edit any of my pods config info. And when I click to edit a pods-created post, I don’t see the Pods input screen. I just see a regular input screen without the custom pods fields.

This happened once before and I thought that maybe something I’d done caused this. I’m on WPEngine and was able to revert to an older backup and everything was fine. This time I can’t imagine what might have happened.

    Thanks!

Are you having issues with your site’s caching plugin? Who is your web host? Let’s get this figured out for you, it’s definitely not something that Pods does on it’s own, but I’m more than happy to help you get it figured out.

    Thanks for the quick response!

Caching is off. Here’s a quick way to duplicate the issue.

    • I go to the Pods Admin link.
    • None of my existing pods show.
    • I create a new Pod
    • It shows up in the left menu
    • I go to the Pods Admin link again
    • The newly created pod doesn’t show up

What version WordPress / Pods are you using? Also, are you using a specific web host for your site?

After looking into this, it appears your theme was using the pre_get_posts filter and changing vars for all queries, including all of the queries that Pods does for WP_Query.

As a result, it wouldn’t properly show any results for Pods queries after a certain point in the loading sequence.
