• I have a category called ‘Softpot Shop’. it’s the parent of all products in my shop.

When I go to the Pages section in woo commerce settings, to set the base page it lists lots of pages except the Softpot Shop page which where I want the cart ‘Return to Shop’ button to go to.

Does anyone know how to make the shop page appear in this list?

  • That’s because you’re trying to define a category as a page and they are not the same thing.

You’d most likely have to create a custom template to display all of your products, then create a page and assign that custom template to it and then set that page as your redirect.

Thanks for the help! How do you create a custom template? Hmm..I shall go away and see if I can figure out how to do that.

Actually looking at WooCommerce did you setup the default pages option when installing the plugin? If so, it should have setup a Shop page and this page displays all of your products by default.

So if that is the case, you could just then redirect to that page.

No..I didn’t install the woo comm plugin. Installed pretty much everything else so I don’t know. I’m in trouble! Just look at the link you gave me and it all looks Greek to me.

I *think* if you create a Shop page that it might default to showing a default list of all of your products.

So just create a new page and use Shop as the title.

This is what you are wanting right? A page on your site that displays all of your products so that you can set the redirect option to that?

I think he must have done as there are plenty of default pages. i.e, page not created by me.

I tried this. i set up a shop page and it did default to it but with not all products showing (though it said it showing them all) and was a mess. It also created a new slug! softpot-shop-3.

Also the menu default to the right page. That is the the Softpot Shop category page I’ve set up. When I created a ‘Shop’ page to default to it defaults to that ok as I said but it not set up right and as I said, didn’t display all the products anyway.

Like the hat by the way!

I think the WordPress default “Blog pages show at most” setting under Settings->Reading might control how many products are displayed on your shop.

The only issue with this is that it would apply to your entire site and not just the shop so may have unwanted consequences.

I’ve created another Shop page and it appears in the base page list..so I set it to that.but the cart “return to shop’ doesn’t go there. Goes nowhere in fact.

There’s a setting somewhere that controls how many product are displayed per page. I know ’cause I changed form 12 to 20 and from 5 across to 4.
