• I was fiddling around in the admin panel today and I accidently changed my wordpress location in the options.

Needless to say everything has now gone awry, my pages arent displaying properly because the link to the stylesheet doesnt work, and navigating aroudn the admin panel is difficult because I keep having to manually edit the URL. (It is obviously changing the URL each time to match the new value that I accidently put in).

I thought I would be able to just go back into the options and change the wordpress URL back to what it should be, so, I managed to find the options page, alter the URL and click save changes. I then received the following message “Sorry, you need to enable sending referrers for this feature to work.”

I’ve looked on the page which describes how to enable sending referrers and followed the instructions in 3 different browsers but to no avail. Anyone have any idea what the problem might be? I’m not using any Norton software.

Any help would be much appreciated ??

Change the 2 urls there and all will be good ??

I had this same thing happen Bluejay…I logged into my hosting cPanel (hopefully you have one) and went to SQL databases. I was then able to access the database through the web interface (not the cPanel config), there’s a different web add-on all the way at the bottom of my page for SQL in cPanel called phpMyAdmin.

Choose this…Select the wordpress SQL database from the dropdown…click the checkbox next to blog id and then go up above and click on the text link that says browse…it is here that you can choose site url and then change it.

Go back, delete all your cookies and such, and reload the site…wallah…the site address will be correct again in your panel!

If you don’t have cPanel, I don’t know what to tell you.

    Thanks so much guys.

Yeah I’d found the phpMyAdmin fix but didnt think my cPanel had it for some reason. Mind you, fancy putting the link RIGHT DOWN THERE at the bottom of the page… No wonder I missed it. Hehe ok enough excuses, cheers guys, everything back to normal now ??
