Hey galavanting, if you’re going to make changes to theme code, you might find it much safer to create a Child Theme and work from there. That way, when the parent theme is updated, you don’t lose all your changes!

Looking at your code, though, I think you’re missing a closing </div> for .socialicons.

I have made a child theme, I know it looks like a mess, but for some reason it only worked for my to copy and paste a lot of the codes into the child theme. What should the </div> look like? Do I add it to the header.php?

Try using Firefox with the Firebug add-on for this kind of CSS troubleshooting. Or use whatever developer tool is available in your web browser.

Your header.php file is quite messed up –

You need to put the social icons div back inside the body tags…
