Widget Logic: Conditional Question

Hi,

Trying to show a widget on my main blog page (a category page) and all posts that have that category ID. (4). I tried stuff like:

“is_category() && in_array($cat, get_term_children( 5, ‘category’))”

But that just causes an error on page. Any ideas?
