Uninstall Displayed to Users in MultiSite

Multi-site is a huge priority for us. Because legacy versions of NextGEN (1.9.x) were only partially compatible, we were not able to finish completing the code for full compatibility in v2.0 for multi-site but we do have that on our agenda for one of the next upgrades.

Hey Becky,

Argh, this is a pain but good to hear you plan on resolving it.

I’m building a network of sites, but I won’t have control over the sub-sites and fear the users may try clicking uninstall and therefore mess everyone elses sites up.

Is there any way, even if its a nasty code hack to just remove that item on the menu – Are you able to give me a pointer on where to look?

I’m very sorry, but we don’t have a hack to resolve that ?? What you might try is this plugin to see if that will work for you:

Mike – just wanted to note that this is a good tip. I’m not sure we would have thought about that when approaching multisite, but you’re right it’s a big issue. I’ve added it as a separate issue for our developers when we tackle multisite.

Thanks Erick / Becky. Unfortunately the other plugins suggested wouldn’t work as an interim, so I may be left with trying to find an alternative gallery plugin, which is a real shame.

Is there a particular older version which didn’t have the ‘Uninstall’ menu available?
