• Hi,

Today I upgraded Nextgen gallery plugin to 2.0. After that I can add new galleries, but I can’t upload images to them. In the batch upload windows I just get a yellow triangle with an exclamation mark saying HTTP Error when trying to upload images.

When I check the folder permissions on the filesystem, I can see that it is has created a separate folder for each photo I tried to upload (!), but every one of the folders is empty.

Folder permissions seem to be ok, because when I downgrade to the previous version of Nextgen gallery, everything is working just fine (resizing, thumbails, uploading etc).

I am using a Windows server with IIS and the latest php version. Also I have disabled all other plugins and tried. I appreciate any help I can get.

    Regards,
    VJ

  • Exactly the same error here. Would love a resolution ASAP

Same problem here… Do you know if there is a log somewhere to know more about errors?

I have exactly the same problem.
Did any of you find out some more?

Is it possible to downgrade to the previous version? I can’t find the install of it anymore ??

Have the same error as well…please provide some help with it.

Finally I gave up on Windows as webserver, so in the meantime I have setup a clean WP setup on Ubuntu server, with the latest NextGen plugin. So now the http error and not being able to upload the photo’s are gone.

But, there is another problem. My site is slow as hell. I have just NextGen gallery plugin installed, so no conflicts there. I have like 20 galleries, with couple hundred pictures. Now to test, I reverted back to NextGen gallery plugin 1.9.13. Then I got a very fast and responsive website. Everything runs fine. So conclusion: stay away from NextGen gallery 2.x?

Good to hear your experiences Anduril! Do you have some info on how to downgrade to 1.9.13? I can’t find the install for this anymore.

Edit: Nevermind, just found them in this topic: https://www.ads-software.com/support/topic/fatal-errors-after-upgrade-from-1913-to-20?replies=12

Had the same HTTP error on uploading images.

Fixed it by doing the following:
Created the wp-content/gallery directory (fresh install)
Set the access rights on the gallery directory via FTP.

Joosd pointed me in the right direction though there was no problem with the access rights. Here’s what worked for me:

Create new empty gallery with NextGen plugin
Use FTP client to upload to the new gallery found under wp-content/gallery
Back in the WordPress Dashboard, go to “Manage Galleries”, choose the gallery in question and hit the button “Scan Folder for new images”

I’m sure there is a more elegant solution, so that the FTP client is unnecessary, but this works.
