Got this message recently. I can understand this type of activity from other IPs, but from google dns? How is it possible? Bug? False positive? IP spoofing?

A user with IP address 8.8.8.8 has been locked out from the signing in or using the password recovery form for the following reason: Exceeded the maximum number of login failures which is: 10. The last username they tried to sign in with was: ‘someuser’
    User IP: 8.8.8.8
    User hostname: google-public-dns-a.google.com
